  Keeping in touch

We encourage the young people in our care to maintain important contacts.  We ensure that they have a contact plan each month and follow up on any issues they may have.  We also encourage them to make new friends and contacts whilst they are with us.

There are different ways that you can keep in touch with your child.

Letters and Cards
In our experience, young people enjoy receiving letters and it’s a positive way of keeping in touch with them whilst they are with us.  There is no limit to the number of letters that they can receive or you can send.

A Telephone Call
Many of our young people have their own mobile phones for private use; where they do not have their own mobile they have access to a cordless telephone in case they would like to make calls in private. They can provide us with as many contact numbers as they wish and these are approved by their social worker.
