What is Rebound?

• Rebound was set up in response to the British Government's invitation to tender for Secure Training Centres (STCs) and Youth Court Escort Services.
• Rebound is a division of GSL UK Limiled.
• Rebound currently holds Home Office (Youth Justice Board) contracts for:

-	Medway Secure Training Centre, Kent; opened in 1998, expanded to 76 bedrooms in 2002 – boys and girls aged 12 –17
-	Rainsbrook Secure Training Centre, Rugby; opened in 1999, expanded to 76 bedrooms in 2002 – boys and girls aged 12-17
-	Youth Court and similar children’s escort services; commenced 1998, boys and girls aged 12 – 17 who are the responsibility of the Youth Justice Board (YJB), youth offending teams (YOTs) and local authority social services departments.

• Rebound completed the national voice verification pilots with Probation Services 1998-2000 and the Youth Justice Board 2000-2001
  
• Rebound has 8 years experience of research, practice development and partnerships
  
• Rebound has direct experience of working with repeat offenders and looking after children
  
• Rebound has some of the most experienced manager and staff
  
• Rebound has developed “CITIZEN 21” – an interactive multi-media CD-ROM for use in anti-offending programmes with children

Ethos
Rebound has worked closely with the British Government’s professional advisors to ensure that its approach to looking after children reflects contemporary best practice. So far as STCs are concerned the aim has been to create living environments consistent with the needs of developing children and young people.
